This document explains which files the website uses, what they are for and how to opt out. The core rule: non-essential analytics does not load before consent is given.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website may store in your device’s browser. Similar technologies exist too: browser local storage and session storage. Below, “cookies” covers all of them.
Some files are necessary for the site to work, some make it more convenient, and some are used to measure audience. That is exactly where the legal difference lies: without the first group the site does not work, while the rest require your consent.
The core principle
Nothing non-essential loads when you open the site. Analytics and other optional technologies are enabled only after you have given consent.
The “counter first, banner later” order is not acceptable: consent must be obtained before processing, not used to justify it retrospectively.
A consent checkbox is never pre-ticked, and refusing must be no harder than agreeing.
Categories of files
| Category | What they are for | Consent required |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Operation and security of the site, protection of forms against automated requests | Not required: the site does not work without them |
| Functional | Remembering user interface preferences | Required where they go beyond strictly necessary |
| Analytics | Anonymous counting of visits and page popularity | Required: loaded only after consent |
| Advertising and third-party | Not used | Not used |
How analytics is set up
The site’s analytics is self-hosted and cookieless: it creates no file on your device and does not allow a visitor to be identified. That is why no banner is shown where there is nothing to consent to.
If even one non-essential file appears later, the consent request starts working immediately and the list in this document is filled in.
The site uses no external counters, pixels or external fonts: fonts are served from our own domain.
List of files in use
The list states each file’s name, purpose, retention period and the party that sets it.
to be confirmedThe exact list is published from the actual composition of the built site and updated on every change.
How to opt out
- Decline the optional categories when the consent request is shown — one action, exactly as for agreeing.
- Withdraw a previously given consent at any time via the consent withdrawal page.
- Disable or clear cookies in your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary files may break some site functions.
